Virtually all international destination countries require your Pakistani passport to have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your scheduled date of entry or departure. If your passport expires within 6 months, immigration authorities or airline check-in staff may deny boarding.

Ensure you have at least 2 consecutive blank visa pages for entry and exit stamps, especially when traveling through multiple transit countries.

While many countries offer e-Visas (such as UAE, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey for US/UK visa holders), airport immigration desks and airline ground agents still require physical, printed copies of your e-Visa letter.

Always carry physical paper copies of your approved visa, return flight ticket receipt, hotel booking voucher, and sufficient proof of travel funds.

If you are departing Pakistan on an employment or work visa (such as for Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, or Oman), Pakistani law requires your passport to carry the official Protector stamp from the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment. Tourists and business visitors traveling on visitor visas do not require a protector stamp.

For international departures, arrive at Islamabad International Airport, Allama Iqbal Airport Lahore, or Jinnah International Airport Karachi a minimum of 3.5 to 4 hours prior to departure. Security queues and immigration checks during peak night-time flight banks can take upwards of an hour.

Do tourist visa holders need a Protector stamp in Pakistan?

No. The Protector of Emigrants stamp is strictly mandatory for work/employment visa holders. Tourist, family visit, Umrah, and student visa holders do not require it.

How much foreign currency can I carry out of Pakistan?
